Richard Donald Thom, age 67 entered eternal life on October 16, 2014 at Parkview Manor, Green Bay. Richard was born July 11, 1947 to Donald and Vernice Thom in Grafton, North Dakota. He lived and worked on the family farm in Neche, ND until 1966 when they moved to Port Washington then later to Cedarburg, WI. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp 5th Communications Battalion from August 18, 1966 until July 24, 1968 during the Vietnam War earning the rank of Corporal. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, expert rifle badge and good conduct medal. He earned his degree as an electrician. He worked at Kohler Company, Sheboygan and Mirro Company, Manitowoc. He is survived by three sons and two daughter-in-laws: Richard (Gloria), Cato; Christopher (Jennifer), Navarre, FL; and Matthew, Manitowoc; three grandsons: Alexander, Benjamin, and Zachary; one sister and brother-in-law: Kathy (Doug) Kuhn, Phillips; two nieces and one nephew: Jennifer (Eric) Stieber; Michelle (Patrick) Stieber, and Daniel Kuhn; and one aunt Ruth O’Hara, ND; other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded by his parents and one son Benjamin. Memorial service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Mueller Funeral Home, W63 N527 Hanover Ave Cedarburg WI. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at the Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.
