Lusty Sr., Raymond Lewis Passed over the bar into the tranquil water of eternal rest on October 6, 2018, age 81, in Grafton, Wisconsin. Born February 12, 1937 to Raymond Frank and Bernice Elizabeth Lusty, in Milwaukee, WI, Ray was older brother to Ronald and Deryl Lusty. Ray graduated Boys Tech High School in 1955, before enlisting in the US Navy, 1955-1957. He served both surface and underwater operations ending his active service on the USS Greenwich Bay (AVP 41). Returning home, Ray rekindled a longtime friendship that quickly became the love of his life. Within months of returning, Ray married Audrey Laura Hoffmann on June 8, 1957. Their union lasted 61 years and was blessed with three sons; Raymond Jr., Eric and Randall. Ray was a phenomenal provider to his family as a Draftsman with Briggs & Stratton, Police Officer with Milwaukee PD, an International Banking Officer with First Wisconsin National Bank and Comptroller for the Wisconsin American Legion. In his spare time, Ray completed both his Bachelor and Masters degrees from UW¬Milwaukee while serving as Past President of the SE Wisconsin Chapter of AHSGR, Past Director of Germanfest, Inc., and as a volunteer assembling the library for the Luxembourg American Cultural Center in Belgium, WI. In the course of Ray's life, he spoke Russian, German and French while self-taught in Polish, Hungarian and Czech. In later years, Ray kept his grandchildren on their toes helping with studies in Calculus, Biology and Korean. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronald. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Audrey, sons Raymond Jr., Eric (Louise) and Randall (Lori)., and a brother Deryl (Theresa). Ray is further survived by his grandchildren: Melissa (Jerry) Wood, Anastasia, Raymond 3rd, Alexander, Adam US Army, Nathan US Air Force, and Danielle,: six great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. The family extends special thanks to Ascension Doctors Puffer, Swanson, Gimbel, and Burrows, and also to Horizon Hospice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 3PM until 6PM at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, Grafton, WI, with a private graveside ceremony for the family at Pinelawn Cemetery, in Milwaukee, WI. The family asks that any memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
