Phyllis Ehlke

Age 95, of Cedarburg, WI, passed peacefully at Lasata Care Center, entering eternal life on December 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born on August 10, 1928 to Christian Indermuehle and Adeline (nee Kluth).

Loving mother of Karen (Ehlke) [John] Reilly of Newry, ME, Gretchen Ehlke of Cedarburg, WI, and Jonathan [Kim] Ehlke of North Port, FL. Proud grandmother of Erin (Reilly) Rund, Sarah Ehlke, Matthew Finkel, Christopher Reilly, Ann Finkel, Alisha (Ehlke) Nail, and Jessica Ehlke. Proud great grandmother of Zane Rosen, Cohen Rosen, Lanettra Nail, and Ari Rund. Phyllis is preceded in death by her dear husband of 67 years, Earl W. Ehlke and their son, Gregory Ehlke.

Phyllis, raised in Appleton, WI was the youngest of four children. Always proud of her Swiss heritage, she claimed this to be the source of her vitality and adventuresome spirit. Phyllis was a creative master of many skills throughout her lifetime—a published writer, pianist, photographer, winemaker, seamstress, and excellent cook and baker. She loved planning adventures for and traveling with her family.

Visitation is Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 1 p.m.—2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m., both at Redeemer Lutheran Church, W76 N627 Wauwatosa Rd, Cedarburg, WI 53012. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Zur Ruhe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
