Phillip K. Monson

Phillip Monson was born to eternal life on Friday, October 22nd while hospitalized. He was born on October 28, 1943 in Crosby, ND to the late Harry Monson and Verna Moore. Phillip moved to Cedarburg as a youngster and attended Cedarburg Schools. Phillip is survived by his wife Dorothy of 48 years. They were married on July 28, 1973 and blessed with 3 children, Rachel (Ryan) Stilega, Mark (Krysta) and Aaron who died in 2019. Phillip dearly loved his grandchildren; Kiley, Austin, Trinity, Marky and Colson. Family was extremely important to Phillip and so gatherings brought everyone together to enjoy a meal, play and be in each other’s company. In 1963, Phillip joined the United States Marine Corps, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. In 1970, Phillip was discharged from the service and worked a number of jobs before marrying Dorothy in 1973. They built their home in the Town of Grafton and still reside there. In 1980, Phillip became employed by Milwaukee Area Technical College, where he worked on the maintenance staff until his retirement in March of 2013. Phillip was a member of the Rose Harms Legion Post 355 in Grafton. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 1:30pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington Street, Grafton. Rev. Luke Anderson will officiate the service. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 12:30pm to 1:15pm. Phillip will be laid to rest at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, or Family Radio Network appreciated. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Hospice Team at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital for their care of Phillip in his final days.
