Paul W. Kanios

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 12:00pm (Noon) at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 1621 2nd Avenue, Grafton for Paul W. Kanios who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 92 years at Aurora Medical Center, Grafton on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 11:00am until the time of services. Memorials to St. Ben’s Food Ministry in Milwaukee appreciated. Paul was born on March 31, 1927 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to the late John and Dorothea (nee Boettcher). Paul married his high school sweetheart Kathryn Haling in Anitgo, Wisconsin on March 9, 1945. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 years during wartime. Paul and Kathryn moved from Milwaukee to Grafton in 1957 and have been residents ever since. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His family and friends were very important to him. He loved music and playing the guitar. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years Kathryn (nee Haling), children; Tom (Lora), Paul “Nick”, Lynda (Tom) Van Dyck, Mary (Richard) Johnson, Karen (Lyle) Hempelman and John Kanios, grandchildren; Heather Wetzel, Melissa Kanios, Andrew (Jennifer) Kanios, Justin Kanios, Stacey, Denise, and Katie Ploof, Jesse (Meghan) Johnson, Emily (Jason) Fritsch, Keri (Jeff) Bertrand, Steven (Renee) Hempelman and Allison Kanios, 16 great-grandchildren, sister; Elaine Light, brother, Chris Kanios, other relatives and friends.
