For online condolences, please visit www.muellerfuneralhome.com Paul was born on November 8, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI to Arnold Lober and Emma (Wolf) Lober. He left Milwaukee at the age of 6, and moved with his family to Columbus, WI, where his father was a teacher and principal at Zion Lutheran School, and where he would spend his youth. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1957. He attended Northwestern College for 1 year, before enlisting in the US Army. Paul spent his military service from 1958-1961, serving in communications military intelligence, and served in Japan for 1 year as well. Paul married his wife Marlene (nee Gresens) on July 7, 1963 in the town of Marathon, WI. The marriage was blest with 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter. Paul and Marlene lived in Kenosha and Baltimore, MD in their early years of marriage, before returning to Wisconsin, where they would build their home in Jackson, raise their family, and remain living for nearly 50 years. Paul worked for American Motors Corporation, Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance, and then for the Coca-Cola Company, where he worked for 35 years, retiring in the position of Field Operations Manager. His role allowed him to support the company’s food service division, specifically Minute Maid and both Butternut and Maryland Club Coffee. He enjoyed his travel in this role around the United States, and the many relationships and friendships he built through his job along the way. Paul enjoyed hobbies in retirement that included traveling with his wife Marlene, including travel to all 50 states in the US and each province in Canada. He also had a love of golfing, fishing, woodworking and gardening and tending to his yard. His greatest passion in his retirement was his involvement in the American Legion, Post #486, where he served as Post Chaplain up to the time of his death. He was a very proud veteran of our country. He was also active in civic duties, operating in a development role for the Town of Jackson for several years. One of Paul’s greatest joys was his faith in Christ, and his involvement in his church congregations, and his ability to serve his Lord through a dedication in lay Christian ministry. He was a founding father of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in 1974, when the idea of a Lutheran HS was just a vision. He served on various boards and committees for more than 30 years, including operating in the role of Development Director for KML. He was a member of David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Jackson for 25 years, and then became a founding member of their sister congregation Morning Star Ev. Lutheran Church when they began in 1994. Paul was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Victoria Lober, Alexander Johnson, Jadon Johnson, Andrew Lober and Emma Lober, who were his pride and joy. He loved to watch them participate in their many activities, whether sports, music, plays or band, cheering loudly on the sidelines or in the audience. He also enjoyed playing games, card games, doing yard work or gardening with them, and had a love of movies and game shows. He is survived by his loving wife and bride of 56 years, Marlene (Gresens) Lober. Dear father of Timothy (J. Spencer Shafer) Lober, Matthew (Charlene) Lober, Rebecca (Robert) Johnson and Andrew (Paula) Lober. Dear Grandfather of 5. Paul is further survived by his Brother John (Anna) Lober, Brother in law’s Robert (Janice) Gresens, Daniel (Phyllis) Gresens and Randy (Diane) Durst. He is further survived by 19 nieces and nephews, and many other relatives, dear cousins and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Emma (Wolff) Lober, his parents-in-law Walter and Violet Gresens, sister and brother-in-law Marion (Ron) Manthe, his sister Emma Jean Krebs, and Sister-in-law Patricia Durst, and 2 nieces, Susan Manthe and Debra Krebs. Paul was a very charismatic guy and had a wonderful welcoming way of putting everyone he met at ease with a smile, a joke or a hug. He had so many friends and relatives all over the country, and he made every effort to visit often, communicate often, travel and spend time with those he loved. HE was a one-of-a-kind and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. We know he is in heaven, smiling down, for he has won the victory of eternal life, given to us through Christ, our Savior. .
