Michael “ Mike” D. Schulz, age 65 of Cedarburg, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 8th, 2018. Mike was born on October 3, 1952 in Coburg, Germany, the son of Günter and Ruth Schulz. He married the love of his life, Vicki Wright on September 4th, 1976. After graduation from the University of Wisconsin Madison, Mike began his long professional career in Information Technology at the Oscar Mayer Corporation. Throughout his career Mike worked in various executive positions at the Case, Catalyst and Textron Corporations and Mercury Marine, until his retirement in 2016 from the Brunswick Corporation as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Mike loved adventure. His first adventure began at the age of 5 when he and his family moved from Germany to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. His adventures stemmed from his deeply curious nature and his constant desire to learn. He loved to experience all that life afforded him, sharing his learnings and experiences with all that he came in contact with. His love of the outdoors, foraging for mushrooms, wild berries and trout fishing kept him in touch with the earth that he loved. Mike was also an excellent chef and shared the results of his culinary skills with friends, family and loved ones. Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vicki Schulz, of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, his daughter Erika (Matthew Schmidt) of Green Bay, Wisconsin, his son Tristan (Kelsey Stetson) of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, his dearly loved grandson Sawyer, his parents Günter and Ruth of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, sister Rosie (John) Putman of Lodi, Wisconsin and aunt Margot Johannes of Coburg, Germany. He will also be greatly missed by his constant companion, Murray, his Wheaton Terrier. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Big Sand Lake Property Owners Association for the continuation of the Walleye stocking program for Big Sand Lake that Mike began.
