Merle V. Doege

Merle V. Doege of Cedarburg, formerly of Saukville & Port Washington, passed away peacefully at Lasata Care Center on October 31, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Merle was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 16, 1927 to the late Victor & Winnifred (nee McGaw) Doege. Merle served in the United States Navy in WWII. He was a member of the Saukville American Legion Landt-Thiel Post #470 for over 70 years. He was a Village of Saukville Clerk for many years. He was a former active member at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Saukville and Community Methodist Church in Cedarburg. He also was an avid Packer fan and a season ticket holder for over 60 years. Merle is survived by his wife Peggy (nee Murphy) of Elm Grove, children; Susan (Marty) Keey of West Bend, Gail (Gary) Laverenz of Jackson, & Joan (Rod) Lisowski of Cedarburg, step-children; Sandy (Jeff) Todd of Brookfield, Debbie (Richard) Alt of Milwaukee, Mark Lasee of Mequon, & David (Rhonda) Lasee of Auroa, IL, grandchildren; Amy (Todd) Schrap of Cedarburg & Ryan (Katie) Laverenz of Kewaskum, great grandchildren; Brandon, Joshua, Kiera, Brodey, & Keyana, daughter-in-law Gretchen Schuldt-Doege of Milwaukee. Preceded in death by his son David Doege. He is further survived by other relatives and friends Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016, 5:30 PM at the Saukville American Legion Landt-Thiel Post #470, 601 W. Dekora St. Saukville. Family will receive friends at the Post from 4:30 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials of your choice appreciated.
