Mary "Marie" C. Bloom

Mary “Marie” C. Bloom, 85, passed away peacefully Monday, July 21, 2014 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mary was the daughter of Anastasia (nee Bieniek) and Andrew Zaun, born on December 20, 1928 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mary’s birth mother died from complications of childbirth, and Andrew married Julia Moser. Raised with loving care by her stepmom, Mary and her older brother Richard were soon joined by more siblings, Marvin (deceased), Elbert, Laverne (deceased), and Bernie. Raised in Superior, Wisconsin, Mary moved to Milwaukee after high school and there met her husband of 49 years, William Bloom (deceased). She is survived by her loving children and legacy, Linda (Esche), Ronald, and Darlene (Skow), as well as 9 grandchildren and great grandchildren. The world has definitely been enriched by her presence. She is also survived by two siblings, Albert and Bernie (Denzer). She was met at the gates of heaven by her mother, father, stepmother, and brothers Richard, Laverne, and Marvin, among many other friends and loved ones. Mary’s true passion was serving others. Her career in the restaurant industry spanned over 50 years, primarily at the Boulevard Inn. But even after ‘retiring’ she continued to serve as a volunteer for various care organizations in the area. Mary was always willing to step in and lend a helping hand. Many times fighting through her own fatigue and discomfort to care for her family and give comfort to others. She was a pioneer in modern womanhood, juggling career and family. And, for all who were touched by her, we are extremely fortunate to have had her share our lives. We take solace in the fact that she lived a full and productive life, but regret having someone so precious taken from us. The family would like to personally thank the staff at Columbia St. Mary’s – Ozaukee and Dr. Christopher Budny for their support and kindness in the final days shared with our Mom. Visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home Cedarburg WI on Saturday July 26, 2014 from 11:00am until 2:00pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm. Burial at Immanuel Cemetery.
