Lun Chiu Mui, 梅倫超, was born on August 7, 1937 in Canton, China. He was the middle child, with an older sister and a younger brother. Lun Chiu moved from China to Hong Kong at the age of 15. He had to work, doing mostly odd jobs. Eventually, he worked as a bartender at the Peninsula Hotel before moving to the United States in 1968 for other employment. He went back to Hong Kong to marry his wife, Lai Fong, on September 9, 1971. They moved to Woonsocket, Rhode Island to work and start a family. He became the father of two sons, Simon and Steven. He moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his family in 1981. He worked at the Silver Dragon Restaurant as the head chef. He was a very hard and dedicated worker (working long hours most days), and a wonderful cook. Lun Chiu and his wife eventually bought the Silver Dragon Restaurant, working there with family and friends until his retirement. Later in life, Lun Chiu was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This affected his physical state, but not his mental state. It eventually became more and more difficult for him to move. He was taken care of by his wife and son at home. Lun Chiu loved his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, growing mostly Chinese vegetables. He also enjoyed watching most sports, but liked basketball the most. He also spent a good portion of his day watching the stock market. During his free time, he liked playing slots at the casino. On some weekdays, he went to the Asian-American Community Center and loved spending time with his friends. Lun Chiu was a great husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 - 2:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home 979 N. Green Bay Rd. Grafton. Burial will be at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg, WI.
