Lorraine T. Burhop

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014, 1PM at St. John Lutheran Church, 1193 Lakefield Rd., in Grafton, for Lorraine T. Burhop. The visitation will take place, prior to the funeral service, on Saturday, at the church, from 11:30AM – 1:00PM. The Rev. James O’Reilly-Christensen will officiate the service. Interment will take place at Lakefield Cemetery, in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated. Lorraine was born on June 30, 1922, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Anthony Shutta and the late Rose (nee Miszewski) Shutta. She was later united in marriage to Dietrich Burhop, on July 30, 1949, at St. John Lutheran Church, in Grafton. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Marilyn, Kenneth, and Jeanine. Lorraine was employed by Bolen Manufacturing, in Port Washington, working as an assembler from 1941, until her retirement in1988. She was a longtime active member at St. John Lutheran Church, in Grafton, as well as a longtime resident in the town of Grafton, where she and her husband farmed for many years. Lorraine is survived by her children, Marilyn (Phillip) Speranza, of Grafton, Dr. Kenneth (Christine) Burhop, of San Diego, California, and Jeanine Burhop, of Grafton; grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Reigner, of Lake Moor, IL, Ryan Burhop, of Fallbrook, CA, and James Weeden, of McAllen, TX; and great-grandchildren, James, Daniela, & Steven Weeden, of McAllen, TX, and Mason & Dylan Reigner, of Lake Moor, IL. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Dietrich Burhop. Lorraine was called to her heavenly home, on March 3, 2014, at the age of 91 years.
