Lori Jan Steffen, 44 A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 6031 West Chapel Hill Road, Mequon, at 2 p.m. for Lori (nee Maier) Steffen of Cedarburg who passed away during her second battle with breast cancer on January 3, 2013 at Horizon Hospice at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus. The service will be officiated by reverends Randy Frank and Barbara Jordan. Lori was born in Milwaukee on May 1, 1968, was a 1986 graduate of Cedarburg High School, and attended UW-Stevens Point, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and UW-Milwaukee. Lori was united in marriage with Thad Steffen on September 8, 1995 on a wedding cruise to the Island of Nassau in the Bahamas. They began their family in Bay View, and moved to Cedarburg in 2001. Lori and Thad shared a passion for all sports and played on coed volleyball teams throughout their marriage. Lori lived and shared a life of love, light and laughter. Her passions were art and photography, and she worked most recently at Stadler Gallery in the 3rd Ward in Milwaukee. Lori adored her children and her time was spent nurturing and supporting all of their activities. She participated in the Parkview winter carnival designing and building the “hallway game” for the past 8 years. She was a lover of nature, polar bears, fishing, swimming and all family gatherings. Lori is survived by her devoted husband Thad and their three beautiful children Erik (15), Tyler (12) and Abigail (7). Beloved daughter of Jan Harmon, preceded in death by her father Thomas Maier. Dear Sister of Dave Maier (Barb), Ken Maier, Dan Maier (Sue), Terri (Bruce) Weber and Tim Maier (Donna). Loving daughter-in-law of Stan (Nan) Steffen. Sister-in-law of Bart (Irene) Steffen and Ann (Dewey) Wilbanks. Further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives. lovingly supported and beloved by Chuck Harmon, the Harmon family and so, so many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to the Edvest College Savings Plan for Lori’s 3 children, which may be sent to N72W7843 Harvest Lane, Cedarburg WI 53012.
