Leon A. Schneider went to his heavenly home in his sleep the morning of November 21! Otherwise known as the Candy Man, Mr. Wonderful or Mr. Entertainment, Leon was always the life of the party! He graduated from UW-Whitewater and then pursued a career in automotive accounting for several Ford dealers. In his spare time, he helped his wife, Carol Ann (Kluth), start her company, SEEK Careers/Staffing. When he lost his job in a recession, he joined Carol and became an accountant for SEEK. Officially retired in 2002, Carol said, “He still came to work every day, including Saturdays.” He joined his friends every morning at the “Old Grandpa’s Club” at the Grafton McDonalds. From there, his favorite haunts were the Post Office and the bank, where he visited and joked with lots of local people. He loved his membership in the Lions Club and his fun on the golf links with his friends! Leon and Carol were married on February 4, 1961! Their 55-year old marriage was blessed with Paul, Joel (Jena) and Neil (Linda), 10 grandchildren and 5.5 greats! His grandchildren are Nick, Clay (Jessica), Bianca (Matt) Dahm, Grant, Asia, Brittany, Ashley, Hayley and Brennen! His great grandchildren are Xavier and Khloi (Dexter), Tanner (Brittany), Brentley and Everley (Clay). His sister, Lucille (Brandl), brother-in-law Dale (June) Kluth and dozens of nieces and nephews and their families also survive! Grandpa Leon was preceded in death by his grandson, Dexter, and his brothers and sisters, Harvey, Marian (Peterman), Reuben, Arline (Reichardt), Roman and Leonard! Please join the family at St. Joseph Church, Grafton, for visitation from 9:30 – 11:45 AM on Saturday, November 26, Mass at noon, with a party to follow at the church. Note that Grafton’s Christmas Parade will close streets in the downtown area during that time. Memorials to the Grafton Lions Club, St. Joseph Church or the charity of your choice!
