Keith H. Steffen Keith H. Steffen, of Madison, formerly of Cedarburg, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, due to complications of a stroke, at the age of 83 years. Keith was born in Milwaukee, the son of the late Harry Steffen and the late Verna (nee Wiegert) Steffen. He grew up in the Thiensville area and attended Shorewood High School. He graduated from Shorewood High School in 1952, and then attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Keith was united in marriage to Janet Grady on August 9, 1959, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, in Saukville. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Candice. Keith worked as a postal clerk for both the Thiensville and Cedarburg Post Offices during his 34 years of service. He met and became friends with the many people he served throughout his career at the post office. Keith retired in 1989, and was then able to travel abroad with his wife, Janet, and after her passing with his special friend, Patricia Pabst. Keith was an avid Packer and Brewers fan, he enjoyed stamp collecting, and trying to find that golden treasure while metal detecting. He was a charter member of the Waders of the Wolf Fishing Club and was also a longtime member at Community United Methodist Church, in Cedarburg. After his wife passed in 1999, Keith relocated to the Madison area to be closer to his daughter, Candice. Keith is survived by his daughter, Candice Steffen, brother-in-law, Allen Grady, and special friend, Patricia Pabst. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife, Janet. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 15, 2017, 12 Noon at Community United Methodist Church (W68 N563 Evergreen Blvd.), in Cedarburg. The visitation will take place on Friday, prior to the funeral service from 11AM until the time of service. Keith will be laid to rest next to his wife, at Immanuel Cemetery, in Cedarburg. Memorials can be made in his name to the Steffen Middle School, in Mequon.
