Joyce V. Wegner

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:00pm at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 1621 2nd Avenue, Grafton for Joyce V. Wegner, age 83 years who died on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Meadowmere North Shore in Mequon. Visitation will take place at church on Saturday from 11:00am to 12:45pm. Rev. Erv Uecker will officiate the service. Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Joyce was born on October 17, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Paul and Viola (nee Lemke) Schulz. She married Norman E. Wegner in Milwaukee, WI on October 20, 1962. They were blessed with a daughter, Wendy. Joyce and Norman were married for 49 years until Norman’s death in 2012. They were members of Pilgrim United Church of Christ since 1968. In the early 70’s Joyce would call WGLB radio in Port Washington and the radio announcer named her the “Pickle Lady”, she loved talk radio. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She bowled in her early years and was a fantastic cross-stitcher. Some of her cross-stitching hangs at Pilgrim United Church of Christ. Joyce made an outstanding barbeque beef and a hash brown potatoe dish. Joyce loved being a homemaker and the light of her eyes was her 2 grandsons. Joyce is survived by her daughter; Wendy (David) Schuette, 2 grandsons; Nicholas and Benjamin, sisters-in-law, Bernice French, Maryann Wegner, Marie Wegner, special grand companions Summer, the golden retriever and Socks, the cat, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Norman, her brother; Richard (the late Diane) Schulz, sister-in-law; Lucille (the late George) Raths and brother-in-law; Jim Wegner.
