Joanne "Wutch" G. Habermann

Joanne G. “Wutch” Habermann (Nee Cowen) of Mequon, died peacefully surrounded by her family at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon on January 7, 2015 at the age of 78. Joanne was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 20, 1936 the daughter of the late Edwin and Helen (Nee Kappel) Cowen. Joanne was united in marriage on June 23, 1956 in Milwaukee, WI to Arthur Habermann. Joanne was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville; was a former member of Jobs Daughter, Queen Bethel 2 and the United States Bowling Congress. Joanne volunteered at Homestead High School and the voting polls and many community service organizations. Joanne enjoyed bowling, gardening, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family. Joanne is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arthur; children: Jeff Habermann, Lori (David) Rauth and Todd (Angela) Habermann; grandsons: Dustin and Nicholas Habermann; sisters: Geraldine (Paul) Fehlhaber and Janyce (the late Daniel) Hundt; sisters-in-law: Helen Cowen and Audrey Stommel; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 – 6:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 3:30 PM – 5:45 PM. Joanne’s family would like to thank the staff of Lawlis Family Hospice of Mequon and the staff of New Castle Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and compassion.
