Joanne Micoley (nee Veloon), of Port Washington, was born to eternal life on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the age of 63 years old. Joanne was born on February 19, 1957 at St. Mary’s - Milwaukee. She attended elementary school and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton, WI. As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, Joanne was a kind and compassionate educator who worked with the developmentally and cognitively disabled at Bethesda Lutheran in Watertown, WI. She also taught 4th grade at St. Bernadette School in Milwaukee, WI for most of her career. She loved painting, crafting, and scrapbooking. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially during holiday traditions and celebrations. Joanne is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Michael) DiBiasi; son Andrew; sister Judith (Steven) Gleisner; granddaughter Olivia. Being a first-time grandmother was one of Joanne’s great joys. Joanne is also survived by nieces Kathryn (Garett) and Melissa (Jason), nephew David (Angela), and loving friends and family members. Joanne was preceded in death by parents Dorothy (nee Eberhardt) and Elmer Veloon; brother James Veloon and sister in law Marlene Walters. She will be laid to rest next to her parents at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Grafton. A private graveside committal will take place for family and close friends, with Pastor Paul Bulgerin presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) can be made.
