April 18, 1934 — May 10, 2018

Janet Carr

Janet Ruth, was born April 18, 1934 in Milwaukee WI, to Earnest and Doris Gagnon. As an only child, she was the apple of her father’s eye and a definite “daddy’s girl”. Her mother, a strict school teacher, taught Janet the importance of a good education and as a young adult, Janet completed her certification as an X-ray Technician. In 1954, Janet married her first love, Orville H. Schneider and moved to Evansville, Indiana. They started a family, with the arrival of their first two children and lived there for several years. In 1959, they moved back to Wisconsin and settled in Milwaukee where they had two more children. Sadly, on May 10th 1976, Orville unexpectantly passed away. The loss of her beloved husband, left her a single mom, and in order to support her young family she took a secretarial job for a Blue Cross Blue Shield claims adjuster. Love captured Janet’s heart again, and in 1982, she married George Carr; a Korean war veteran. For the next 20 years, they lived a modest lifestyle, trying their hand in a few different types of businesses adventures. George had a good sense of humor and kept Janet laughing until he sadly passed away in 2002. Janet had a caring heart and spent the majority of her life tending to the many health needs of others. She enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening and her “green thumb” made it easy for her to restore vibrancy to any lifeless looking plant. When her family was young, she loved to go camping with them on the weekends; spending time relaxing and playing Bridge with friends. As she aged, she often spent her time looking at old photo albums and reminiscing about the past. This is probably why she loved genealogy and antiques so much. Janet enjoyed reading the Bible, loved her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and on May 10, 2018, she left this world to live with Him in paradise. She will be missed by many; especially her four children and their spouses, her ten grandchildren, and her four great-grandchildren. A family memorial service will be planned at a later date.
