James Wollner, of Grafton, passed away unexpectedly, on December 24, 2019, at the age of 85 years. Jim was born in the street car station, in Grafton, on September 9, 1934. He was the son of the late Leo Wollner and the late Irene (nee Paulin) Wollner. He attended school in the Grafton School District and graduated from Grafton High School, with the class of ’52. Jim served his community as the Assistant Fire Chief, in Grafton, from 1952 until 1978. He was united in marriage to Valerie (nee Durbin) on November 26, 1977, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Grafton. Shortly after they were wed, Jim and Valerie owned and operated the Redstone Tavern, in Saukville. Together they ran the bar until 1992. Prior to Jim running the bar, he drove truck for the Grafton Truck Line, Schmitt Ford, Freeman Chemical, as well as Dickmann Manufacturing. When Jim wasn’t putting in the countless hours of work, he could be found watching Wisconsin sports including, the Bucks, Packers, Brewers, and Badger games. He loved his teams and was a loyal fan. Jim is survived by his wife, Valerie Wollner, of Grafton, son, Tim (Christine) Brogli of Grafton, and daughter, Dawn (Steve Weyker) Brogli, of Port Washington, and grandchildren, Nathan Brogli, Christian Brogli, Alex Wilmanns, and Katie Brogli, and great-grandchild, Scott Brogli. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Scott Brogli, brother, Francis (Betty) Wollner, and sister, Virginia (Fred) Dickmann. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020, at 6:30PM at the Mueller Funeral Home, in Grafton. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00 PM until 6:15PM. Deacon Al Lazaga, of St. Joseph’s Parish will conduct the services. Jim will be laid to rest on Saturday, January 4, 2020, 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
