James A. Gollnick

James A. Gollnick of Cedarburg, died peacefully at Horizon Hospice, Mequon, surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the age of 75. Jim was born in Cedarburg, WI on December 29, 1937 the son of the late Albert and Lilly (nee Ladwig) Gollnick. Jim was united in marriage on August 16, 1958 to Ruth (nee Jung). Jim worked for Cedarburg Light & Water for 33 years. Jim was a graduate of Cedarburg High School and a member of the Golden Bulldogs; was currently on the board of the Wisconsin Bird and Game Breeders Association; was a former board member of the American Pheasant and Waterfowl Society; Past President of the Newburg Sportsman’s Club; Past general leader of the Covered Bridge 4-H Club; Past President of the Ozaukee Co. 4-H Leaders Association and a passive member of the Cedarburg Fire Department. Jim enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, walking and especially loved attending his grandchildren’s activities. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth (nee Jung); Children: Diane (Bob) Kettlewell, Janet (Tom) Polum and James (Jamie) Gollnick; Grandchildren: Krystie Kettlewell; Kimberly and Kyle Polum; Andrew (Kristin) Gollnick and Michael Gollnick. Jim is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by a brother Roger; Uncle: Allie Ladwig; father-in-law and mother-in-law Oscar and Amelia Jung; brother-in-laws: Lloyd and Vernon Jung; and one grandson: Eric Kettlewell. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 – 1:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM – 12:45 PM.
