Ida M. Walters Nee Schoenknecht

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 2PM at Advent Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Ida Mae Walters, entered into eternal life on June 29, 2010, at age. 92 years. Visitation will be held at the church from 1PM until the time of service. Rev. Dr. Janis Kinens will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lasata Care Center appreciated. Ida was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on March 8, 1918, to Martin and Emily (nee Weich) Schoenknecht. They moved to Milwaukee in 1925 and then to Cedarburg in 1929. She graduated from Cedarburg High School. Ida married Charles Walters on February 22, 1936, in Milwaukee. Ida enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, playing cards, bowling and being with her friends. Ida is survived by her daughter-in-law Kay Walters; grandchildren Mark, Paul and Peter Walters; great-grandchildren Danika and Bryna Walters; brother Arthur (the late Jean) Schoenknecht; sister-in-law Lorraine (the late Tony) LaPorte and Wendell (the late Nadine) Gillogly. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Ken, sisters Evelyn (the late Clarence) Farshing and Ruth (the late Clarence) Behling and brother-in-law Herbert Walters.
