Harlan Van Matre of Cedarburg died peacefully on February 12, 2019 at the age of 79 with family at his side along with the wonderful aides and staff from Aurora Hospital. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 3, 1939 and moved to Scandinavia, Wi as a child. He was married for 44 years to Judy (Gretzinger). Harlan had worked for medical device companies as a quality control supervisor and wrote submissions for approval of new medical products to the FDA. Harlan had many interests. He enjoyed mostly his yearly trips to Hawaii and cruises. When home, he enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. He was an avid Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan. He never wanted to miss a game, so he spent many enjoyable hours watching sports. Harlan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy, children; Julie Van Matre, Amy DeLarm, Marnie (John Hollow) Van Matre, the late Chris (Jackie) Kaldenberg, Leslie (Charles) Perrizo, Michael Kaldenberg, Alan (Cary) Kaldenberg and Lillian Garcia, 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters; Sandra (George) Boucher and Connie Freeman, brothers-in-law; Jerry (Rita) Gretzinger and Ken (Darlene) Gretzinger and sisters-in-law; Debbie (John) Frost and Connie (Greg) Dahlman, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Harlan is preceded in death by his father, William Van Matre, mother, Martha Mork and brothers, Dennis, Gary, Jim and Keith Mork. The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care provided by Dr. Maul and his staff from the cancer clinic and the IV therapy nurses from Aurora Hospital.
