Gordon John Decker

Gordon J. Decker Gordon John Decker Of Fredonia, passed away on September 18, 2016 at the age of 79. Gordon was born on March 2, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids to the late Henry Theodore and Harriet Catherine (Nee Dumke) Decker. Gordon graduated from Mosinee High School, class of 1955 and the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, Class of 1959. On August 23, 1958, in Eau Claire, WI Gordon was united in marriage to Shirley Yvonne Martin. Gordon was employed by Insurance of Wausau where he worked in sales; Associated Insurance, Allis Chalmers, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Donahue and Associates as a Corporate Health Benefits Manager. He had been a member of the Jaycees, Masons, and various professional organizations. Gordon resided in Cedarburg, WI for over 30 years of his adult life. Gordon was an artist in woodworking – hand carving wood bowls and vases. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badger Fan; enjoyed going to the YMCA, bicycling, skiing, golfing, playing cribbage and volunteering at Riveredge Nature Center. Gordon is survived by his wife Shirley; children: Liz Decker, Andrew (Kaydi) Decker and Andrea Ruth (Leo) Duffrin; grandchildren: Sarah, Jackson, Josh, Anna, Emma and Mia; Sisters: Joan (Richard) Fleming and Ruth (Billy) Stevens; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be held at Ozaukee Congregational Church 1142 Lakefield Rd. Grafton on Saturday, October 1, 2016 – 12:00 PM. Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association
