Gerald "Jerry" R. Irwin

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 12:00 (noon) at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 W. Washington St., Grafton for Gerald R. “Jerry” Irwin who was a longtime resident of Grafton. Our Gracious Father called him home on November 8, 2016 at the age of 72 years. Jerry’s wish was to spend his last days at home with his family and friends. Visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 10:00am to 11:45am. Burial will be held at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association appreciated. Jerry was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin on April 17, 1944, the son of the late Milton and Elva (nee Kruke) Irwin. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Bublitz on April 24, 1965 and they were blessed with four daughters. Jerry was an all-around great guy who loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and take care of his yard. He also enjoyed cooking and baking (even mincemeat pie). He was known to make some great homemade applesauce and venison sausage as well. Jerry was talented with his hands and could fix anything that came his way. He was proud that he has kept his Simplicity tractor running for 51 years. He was a faithful and dedicated employee of Grob Inc. for 44 years working as a machine shop supervisor. He most enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters and especially his seven grandchildren. They truly were the joy of his life. Jerry is the beloved husband of Phyllis for 51 years. Loving father of Cheryl (Marc) Krogmann, Penny (Sheldon Setzke) Irwin, Michelle (Bruce) Zentner and Teri (David Liss) Irwin. Extremely proud grandfather of Lucas (fiancee’ Marissa Schwede), Thomas, Rebecca and Teresa Krogmann,Tanner, Taylor and Hunter Zentner. Dear brother of Kenneth (Janet) Irwin and Robert (Cindy Kimball) Irwin. Fond brother -in-law of Richard (Lois) Bublitz and Edward (Bonnie) Bublitz. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
