Gene O. Picard Of Cedarburg, passed away of lung cancer at Horizon Hospice in Mequon, WI on June 2, 2013 at the age of 82. Gene was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 13, 1930 the son of the late Clarence and Myrtle (Nee Shufelt) Picard. On September 17, 1955 Gene was united in marriage to Jacquie (Nee Meinert). Gene graduated with a Photographic degree from Layton School of Art. He served in the United States Army and was a personal photographer for General Clark in Hawaii. Gene received his master’s degree in photography in 1969. He owned and operated Colonial Studio in Cedarburg and was known as Uncle Gene to many of the people he photographed. He will be sadly missed by family and many friends. Gene is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jacquie (Nee Meinert); 2 sister-in-laws Judy (Jim) Lamers and Darlene Meinert; nieces and nephews: Andrea Picard (Keith) Walters, Jeff (Geri) Picard, Lance Meinert, Scot Lamers, Cori (Grant) Ellis, Daniel Seitz, Debbie Seitz, Denise (John) Frank, and many great nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his brother Philip, Sister Collette Seitz and brother-in-law James Meinert. Private services will be held.
