Gale R. Miller

Gale Robert Miller, age 72, passed away at his home in New Berlin, Wisconsin on October 11, 2021. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 8, 1949 to his parents, Helmer and Edith Miller. He spent his early childhood in Milwaukee until his family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee for a few years. They then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where Gale attended grade school. Several years later, the family moved again to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, where Gale graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1967. He attended Brigham Young University for a time but returned to Valley Forge and worked for his dad for several years. In his professional life, Gale was employed for many years by the Brown Deer School District, as well as the City of Brookfield. He also started a business of his own, Team Cleaning. Gale was kind, compassionate man and an extremely hard worker. He was generous, humorous and enjoyed being with those he loved and those who loved him. There were some rough times in his life, but he persevered. After having a stroke some years ago, he put in many hours of physical therapy and effort, improving his balance, his speech and his handwriting. His philosophy after that was “Stay in the ring and keep punching”. He also volunteered for many hours at Mt. Sinai Rehabilitation Center and helped many patients there. Gale’s favorite color was red, white and blue; he was a true patriot. He loved auto racing, auto shows and road trips to most anywhere. He loved to drive and wash and wax his cars and watch NHRA races, the Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Bucks. His favorite TV programs were “Colombo” and “Andy of Mayberry”. He loved to listen to music, especially Ramsey Lewis. Among his heroes were his Dad, Rocky Balboa, John Force, and Rush Limbaugh. Gale was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cheryl Ann. He is survived by his daughters Rachel Wieland and Jessica Marie Miller-Cybela (Jimmy); his brothers Glenn (Sue) and Robert (Jacqueline) and sister Lynn Burmeister. He is also survived by six nephews (Michael, Lance and Todd Miller, Eric Burmeister, Charles Cliff, Evan Miller); three nieces (Kimberly Burmeister, Hannah, and Katie Miller); two great-nephews (Preston and Cameron Miller); and four great nieces (Emma and Mia Miller, Chloe Burmeister, and Willow Nanke) special friend (Donna Miller) and many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 with a visitation from 4-6 PM and a service to follow at Mueller Funeral Home, W63 N527 Hanover Avenue in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Gale to Milwaukee Rescue Mission and the Wounded Warrior Project.
