Fritz W. Herzog, 84 Fritz Walter Herzog, of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 17th, 2015. Fritz was born on January 20th, 1931, in Einbeck, Germany, the son of August and Marie Herzog, and spent his childhood and teenage years there. Fritz was a licensed electrician by trade when he immigrated to the United States in 1955, where he joined the United States Army and served his country for two years. Fritz met Christa (nee Ternedde) Herzog, who subsequently also immigrated to the United States in December of 1958. Fritz and Christa were married on March 7th, 1959, and were blessed many happy and wonderful years of marriage. They celebrated both a beautiful Silver and Golden Wedding Anniversary with family, and rejoiced in 56 years of marriage. Fritz had a long and extensive career in Industrial Management, during which he worked for Central Engineering of Milwaukee and retired from the Simon Company in 1993. He enjoyed his position as Plant Manager greatly as well as his relationships with his many co-workers over the years. Fritz was respected and admired for his strong sense of business ethics, fairness, dedication to his job, and his sense of humor with his co-workers and employees. Fritz was a wonderful husband to Christa, and some of their fondest memories are of their trips to Pagac's Pine Resort and fishing vacations on the St. Croix Flowage. He also enjoyed camping throughout the United States with his family. Fritz and his family also enjoyed their trips to Europe to visit family and friends there. Fritz was a wonderful "jack of all trades", a man of many talents, among them, woodworking and carving, drawing and painting, and car refurbishment and repair. Fritz and Christa also enjoyed their jaunts to the Oneida Casino, where he was always very lucky. He dearly loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, hiking, and bird-watching with his wife Christa, children, and grandchildren. Fritz loved his neighbors and friends and was always willing to help anyone in need. Fritz is survived by his beloved wife, Christa; his cherished children, Diana Herzog Boesch and Robert “Bob” Herzog, his adored grand-children, Kaitlin Marie (Justin) Weber and Tyler Robert Boesch, and his much doted upon great grand-son, Aidan Tyler Weber. In addition, he is survived by his son-in-law, Larry Boesch, and his son, Bob's, longtime girlfriend and partner, Sharon Zielke, and her children, C.J. and Megan Zielke. He is further survived by his brother in Germany, Erich Herzog and their family, his brother-in-law Peter Ternedde and wife Rosa Ternedde of Las Cruces, New Mexico, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends and neighbors, both here in the United States and in Germany. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Gertrude Kuhl of Germany and his brother-in-law, Manne Kuhl. In addition, he deeply missed and was preceded in death by his beloved Springer Spaniel, Tootsie. Funeral servies will be held on Tuesday, November 24th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, with visitation preceding the Celebration of Life from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. , at W63 N149 Washington Avenue, Cedarburg. A reception will follow the service at the Church Fellowship Hall. The Herzog Family wishes to deeply thank the staff of St. Mary's Hospital , Ozaukee Campus, and the Horizon Hospice at St. Mary's , for their compassionate care of Fritz and for all of their kindness to him and to their family, with deepest gratitude. The family wishes to also thank Mueller Funeral Home and the Reverand Janis Kinens, and Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, for all of their assistance and kindness to the family.
