Fredrick W. Goetz, 77, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 17, 2017 at his home in Grafton, Wisconsin. Fred was born on September 22, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William and Bernice Goetz. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son Jeff (Wendy); daughters Jacquie (Glenn Weihert) and Katie (Craig Kennison); grandchildren Matthew (Sarah) Wojtkowski; Nick Goetz; and Craig, Mary, and Claire Kennison. He is further survived by brothers Gary (Dana) and Gene (Jackie); sisters-in-law Jeanne Heidel and Peachy (Ted) Haischer, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Harry and Jean Sceizor; brother-in law Wayne Heidel; and niece Jennifer Semmann. Fred was a dedicated Grafton Police Officer for over 40 years, retiring as Lieutenant. He considered it an honor to serve in Grafton with the team of dedicated officers and professionals, many of whom became lifelong friends. From directing traffic to solving crimes, Fred enjoyed interacting in the community and representing the badge with honor. He loved every minute of it. After earning an MBA and retiring from the police force, Fred taught management and leadership courses at several universities and colleges, including Concordia University and Cardinal Stritch University. More recently, Fred again found camaraderie as a driver with NAPA Auto Parts, where he made many friends (both human and canine). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017, 4:30PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), Grafton. Fred will be in state on Monday, at the church, from 1:30PM until 4:15PM. He will be laid to rest at Immanuel Cemetery, in Jackson. Memorials to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
