Ellsworth A. Butt Ellsworth was born to eternal life on September 30, 2019 at the age of 93 years at The Horizon Lawlis Family Hospice, Columbia-St. Mary’s Hospital, in Mequon, Wisconsin. A celebration of Ellsworth’s life will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1268 Pleasant Valley Road, West Bend, WI on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10:30AM to noon. Pastor Kenneth Mellon will be officiating the service. Burial to take place directly after the service at Trinity’s cemetery located on the church property. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School - Jackson WI, are appreciated. Ellsworth was born on October 22, 1925 in the Township of Jackson to George and Selma (nee Benicke) Butt and was baptized into the Christian faith at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pleasant Valley Road. He attended Sunnyside public school and thereafter Trinity Lutheran Grade School, where he was confirmed in his Christian faith and graduated in 1939. Ellsworth attended West Bend High School and decided to help the nation’s war effort by working at the Gehl Company and later at the Amity, both located in West Bend. Thereafter he worked at the Cedarburg Cannery. In 1946 Ellsworth secured employment at the Kiekhaefer Corporation/Mercury Marine in Cedarburg, and later in Fond du lac, where he worked as an assembler/tester for over 42 years before retiring in 1988. During his Mercury Marine Fond du lac years Ellsworth lived in Oakfield, WI, later moving back to West Bend where he was united in marriage to Lenore Conklin at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in 2002. His loving wife Lenore passed away in 2004. Ellsworth is survived by his stepchildren, the late Brian (Pat) Dixon (Iron Ridge, WI), Maureen (Dan) Lambert (Mosinee,WI), Noreen (David) Ruetz (Waukesha, WI), and Doreen (David) Hunkel (Eden, WI). He is further survived by step-nieces and nephews, family and friends. During his lifetime Ellsworth loved to travel, visiting all 50 states including several trips to numerous European countries. He also enjoyed cruises, visiting the Caribbean Islands and excursions to Jamaica. He also crafted woodworking projects for himself, family and friends. Ellsworth also enjoyed bowling with his friends for many years in the Lutheran Social Bowling League in Cedarburg, where he served as treasurer for 19 years. He also served for 19 years as the treasurer of his lifelong home church of Trinity Lutheran on Pleasant Valley Road and also served faithfully as his congregation’s Synod representative for many years. Ellsworth’s family and friends wish to thank Pastor Ken Mellon, the staff of the Horizon Lawlis Family Hospice, and Froedtert-St. Joseph’s Hospital for their loving care.
