Gilbert and Elfrieda raised their children, on the family farm, where they had resided for over 40 years, in the town of Cedarburg. While Gilbert tended to the dairy cattle, Elfrieda could be found feeding the chickens and harvesting their newly hatched eggs. Elfrieda enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. Each of her grandchildren were lucky enough to receive a hand-made afghan from her. She will be remembered most, by her family, for her wonderful cooking and the love she portrayed to all of them. Elfrieda is survived by her children; Werner (Carrol) Benicke, Allen (Claudia)Benicke, Karen (James) Moder and Daniel (Mary Lou) Benicke, 11 grandchildren; Dwayne (friend, Lynn) Benicke, Loree (Kris) Kazda, Amber (Frank) Field, Todd (Patricia) Benicke, Jay (Julie) Benicke, Lisa (Brad) Seefeldt, Jason (Shannon) Benicke, James Jr. (Jody) Moder, Kristie (John) Parker, Robert (Robin) Benicke and Danielle Benicke, siblings; Dorothy (Leland) Schulz, Alita Berling, Mildred Ulik, and Albert (Agnes) Hartwig, sister-in-law, Ilma Hartwig, and brother-in-law, Paul Hafeman. She is further survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Elfrieda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hilda Stoecker, husband, Gilbert Benicke, and 4 siblings. The family would especially like to thank the loving and caring staff at the Lasata Care Center, in Cedarburg, as well as the Activities Department at Lasata, for all of their wonderful care and compassion.
