Edward N. Mrotek of Grafton, passed away October 31, 2012 at the age of 72. He had a colorful career at Globe Union/JCI, meeting every challenge assigned to him over 42 years of dedicated service. The automotive battery would not be what it is today without the contribution of Ed’s ingenuity and determination. He retired over 50 worldwide patents to his credit. Ed traveled extensively for business and pleasure, enjoying many cruises with his wife and friends, and making new friends all over the globe through his work for JCI. He proudly served in the US Army, both in Europe and domestically. The dearly loved and devoted husband of Diana (nee Pietrzak), they were united in marriage August 18, 1990. Blessed with a loving and supportive son Paul, daughters Jill and Becky. He took pride in his blended family: Joe, Deb, Dave (Cheryl) and Jim (Kristy) Lancello. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to terrific and amazing grandchildren: Torey (Amy), Josh, Kailey, Gavin, Melissa, Nathan, Katelyn, Maranda and Hailey. Further survived by niece Claudia (Jeffrey) and great niece Marcia; nephew Mark (Judy), niece Sheryl (Wayne) and great-nieces Arynn, Shelby, Amanda, Grace and great-nephew Jack; sister-in-law Joan Maznio and brother-in-law Duane Pietrzak. Further survived by other relatives and many dear friends, who all loved and cherished Ed and his many jokes and “true” stories. Ed’s sense of humor, quick wit, curiosity, and strong work ethic influenced everyone who knew him. Preceded in death by parents Casimer, Sr. and Wanda, brother and sister-in-law Casimer Jr. and Lila, father and mother-in-law Joseph and Stella Pietrzak, daughter-in-law Marie Lancello, nephew Kevin Maznio, brother-in-law Eugene Maznio, and grandson Timmy Lancello. To celebrate Ed’s life, there will be a viewing Friday, November 9, 2012 from 3 to 8 pm at the Mueller Funeral Home, 979 North Green Bay Road, Grafton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church (N44 W6055 Hamilton Road, Cedarburg) at 11:00am with visitation at church from 10:00am to 10:45am. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the caregivers of Horizon Homecare Hospice for the devoted and compassionate care shown to Ed during his time there.
