Earl A. Frank Born to Eternal life on November 10, 2016. Earl was born in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on April 24, 1928 to Edmond and Lily Frank. In 1950 he joined the U.S. Army and served for two years. For the majority of his military career he was stationed in Sheboygan, Wisconsin with the Corps of Engineers teaching auto mechanics. After serving he joined the American Legion, Mequon Post 457 where he was a continuous member for over 60 years. He married Virginia Rechtin in December of 1960 not only taking on taking on the care and support of a wife but also the care and support of her three young children. Earl worked in his Father’s service station in Thiensville, (Frank Oil Corp) for many years taking over the business after the death of his father and brother. After selling that business he worked part time at the Lutheran Seminary in Thiensville. He retired from the seminary when in his 70’s. Earl was a longtime member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church. Earl and Virginia loved to travel to their cottage in Watersmeet, Michigan. After selling that property they took many trips with the Ozaukee Bank Prime Timers, and spent a month or more in Arizona each winter, until they did not feel they were spry enough to continue traveling. Both Earl and Virginia loved to travel and encouraged their children and grandchildren to travel. Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, his parents, brother, Milton Frank, and sister, Evelyn Kohlwey. He is survived by his three children, Jim (Linda) Rechtin, Jody (Greg) Hoffmann and Jayne (Max Lipcamann) Berry, grandchildren Marcy (Rob) Gretzlock and Jesse (Amanda) Hoffmann, great grandchildren Samantha, Megan, Jordan and Jacob Gretzlock. Further survived by sister in law, Rhoda (Tom) Quinlan 14 nieces and nephews and may great nieces and nephews. For the last several years Earl was a resident of Luther Manor, River Oaks campus in Thiensville. Because of the loving care of the employees this became his home. His family appreciates the compassionate and expert care that was given to him by his new family at the home. Private family services are pending.
