Dorothy M Dorfler (Nee Schultz)

Dorothy Mae Dorfler (nee Schultz) of Cedarburg passed away into her eternal life on May 30, 2017 at the age of 83 years, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born May 17, 1934 in Kingsford Michigan. A private service, celebrating her life will be held at her home with her immediate family and Pastor. These are Dorothy's final wishes. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and clubs. Gardening, baking, lake living, and traveling were a few of her favorite activities. Dorothy's family would like to thank all her friends, neighbors and members of Bridge Club, Garden Club, Gourmet Club, Homemakers, and YMCA friends who loved her and supported her throughout her life in Cedarburg for the past 60 years. Dorothy truly loved all of you. The family would also like to thank Cedarburg Family Practice Associates, all the doctors, nurses and staff at Froedtert-Medical College Cancer Center who supported her fight. Additionally, thank you to Vitas Home Hospice especially Denise, her nurse. She is survived by her sons: Mark (Darlene) Dorfler, Kurt (Jill) Dorfler, and Craig (Karen) Dorfler; Grandchildren: Shawna (Steve) Krier, Matt (Kim) Dorfler, Jessica Dorfler, Kyle Dorfler, Jenna Dorfler, Jacob Dorfler, Joseph Dorfler, Lindsey Dorfler, Caroline Palmer and Judson Palmer-who lived with, cared for and was a wonderful companion for her. Also survived by great-grandchildren: Lauren Krier, Ella Krier and Brooke Dorfler, brother, Don Schultz, sister, Carol Wilson and son-in-law, Thomas Palmer. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, and relatives. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joe, daughter, Lori Palmer, granddaughter, Alyssa Dorfler, sister, Beverly LaCost and Brother, Bob Schultz. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the "Alyssa Dorfler Memorial Scholarship Fund", administered by the Cedarburg Community Scholarship Fund, or First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg Wisconsin.
