Doris R. Becker

Doris Ruth Becker (Nee Gilbert) Passed away peacefully at Field of Dreams Assisted Living Facility in Kiel, WI on January 10, 2020 at the age of 87. Doris was born on November 16, 1932 the daughter of the late Ruth & Harry Gilbert. Doris attended South Division High School. Doris was united in marriage to Daniel Becker and was blessed with two children: Randy Becker & Sandra Becker. Doris was a kind & giving woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She took in two of her sisters after getting married and raised them. Doris was the head cashier at Kohl’s and worked at Kindy Optical. Her passions included music, sewing, dancing, gardening and rummage sales. She became the family historian and genealogy expert for the Becker family. In retirement she enrolled in upholstery classes and restored antique chairs. She rose above a difficult childhood and saved enough to build her dream home. She designed and built this home on six acres overlooking a horse farm. She also loved working at the local apple orchard. Doris is survived by her children: Randy & Sandra; Siblings: William Gilbert, Margaret Spitzer, Carol Yehle; sisters-in-law: Clarice Gilbert, Regina “Jean” Gestewitz, Elizabeth Poedtke, Ruth Sommer, Joan Fliss and Sharon Svitkovich; brothers-in-law: Robert Becker, William Becker and Dennis Becker; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Doris was preceded in death by siblings: Jean Gilbert, Betty Conard, Harry Gilbert Jr., Donald Gilbert; Sisters-in-law & Brothers-in-law: Marion Kuntz, Francis Casper, Richard Becker, Frederick Becker, Joseph Becker, Dori Morrison, Alice De Green and Mary Jane Michel. A Life Celebration with food and music will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 11:45 – 3:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Banquet Hall W196N9525 Crossview Way Menomonee Falls, WI.
