Doris L. Lloyd

Ms. Doris L. Lloyd of Mequon died from an aggressive lymphoma on Sunday, July 15. She was born June 21, 1938 to Earle and Frances Young in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada. There she attended Milltown High. She earned her RN from St. John General Hospital and later studied public health nursing at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she met her husband, Michael Lloyd. The couple emigrated to the United States in 1962, living in Peoria, Ill., Colonia, N.J., and Warner Robins, Ga., before finally settling in Mequon, Wis. They raised three children. Doris spent most of her Wisconsin career at Bradley Health and Rehab Center in Milwaukee as nurse supervisor. After retiring in 2001, she channeled her enviable energy toward her family, volunteering, and her hobbies. She loved tennis and travel, walking her dog, biking—anything that kept her body and mind active. She motivated and inspired her family, and she will be sorely missed. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her three siblings (Harold, Eleanor, and Kenneth). She is survived by her husband, Michael, and her three children and their families: Steven Lloyd and Kelly Chun of Agoura Hills, Calif.; Timothy and Erica Lloyd of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Elizabeth Lloyd and Orla Lacey of London, England. Her grandchildren are Nicholas, Cameron, and Simon Lloyd. Doris was active with the Cornerstone Church, on Port Washington Rd. in Grafton, where a funeral will be held on Friday, July 20, at 11 a.m. Memorials to Mequon Nature Preserve 8200 W. County Line Rd. Mequon, WI 53097
