David C. Mews

David C. Mews, age 79, was called to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Aurora Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc after a battle with Covid-19. He was born May 6th, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI, to the late William and Cecelia (nee Zaremba) Mews. David cherished his family. He was united in marriage to Susan C. Bratz on July 9, 1966 and blessed with 4 children and 9 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Susan (54 years); sister Constance Boettcher; son William (Lisa) Mews; Richard (Lory) Mews; James Mews; daughter Tami (Brian) Lemke; grandchildren Mallory (fiancé Shaun), Tanner, Mackenzie, Charles, Rachel, Eric, Madison, Kaylin and Easton. David was an electrician at Pieper Power for the majority of his working years and the ultimate handyman. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He would light up with anything they did and attended every musical, sporting event, cross country meet, and dance recital they were in. Hobbies included watching racing, sports and TV shows, fishing and building his model Chris-Craft boat. He loved working on projects throughout the house, especially his finished basement. He enjoyed listening to music, especially country music. David’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Aurora Summit Hospital, especially the staff working in the ICU. They went above and beyond in caring for him and were always willing to talk with his family. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 12 at 2:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church (701 Washington St. Grafton, WI 53024) following a private visitation. A burial will follow the service at St Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Make-A-Wish foundation are appreciated.
