Darlene Whiting

Whiting, Darlene (nee Fey) of Cedarburg, Wisconsin was born in Perry, Iowa on December 23, 1927 and passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. She was preceded in her death by her parents, Carl and Daisy Fey of Perry, Iowa, her husband, Jim Whiting and her twin sister, Irene Modlin. She is survived by her son, Richard Whiting, his wife MJ, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was sustained in life not only by the love of her family, but also by the students, colleagues and administrators who touched her life while a guidance counselor at Nicolet High School where she worked for more than 30 years. Her passions included quilting, gardening, and above all her family. Surely Darlene would wish to join our family in thanking the staff of Lasata Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their grace, counsel and kindness. A memorial lunch for friends and family will be held in her honor at the Wisconsin Country Club on Saturday, February 6th from noon to three. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you consider a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern WI Chapter, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Milwaukee Chapter, or a charity of your choice.
