Clayton Chester Giese, 61, was welcomed home into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with his family by his side on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in ICU at St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon, WI. This was heartbreakingly unexpected after suffering respiratory failure due to the cumulative effects of myotonic dystrophy, (an inherited disease, characterized primarily by progressive muscle weakness and muscle wasting.) Clayton was truly an inspiration to everyone he met and he could also light up a room with his spontaneous sense of humor. Clayton was born on September 21, 1957 in Milwaukee to his loving mother Margaret Ann (nee Strosina) Giese and the late Chester William Giese. Beloved husband of 37 years to Nancy Lynn Patterson. Clayton was united in marriage to Nancy on October 17, 1981 in Grafton and they were blessed with two sons, David Clayton and Douglas Alvin. Clayton was educated in Tool and Die and enjoyed his work as a Machinest. Prior to the progression of the Myotonic Dystrophy, Clayton enjoyed playing dart-ball and singing in the male choir at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, coaching soccer, sheepshead, poker, baseball, skiing, taking family vacations and spending time with his family and friends. Clayton is survived by his wife, Nancy and their two sons, David and Douglas, Mother, Margaret Ann, sister, Kathryn Ann (Ken) Wegner, brother, Clifford William (Rebecca) Giese, brother-in-law, Dennis Gall, father-in-law, Alvin Patterson, many cousins, 3 nieces, 4 nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. Clayton was preceded in death by his father, Chester William, his sister, Roberta Jean Gall, and mother-in-law, Ruth Patterson. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him, especially by his beloved wife, Nancy. A funeral for Clayton will be celebrated Saturday, June 1, 2019, 1pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, at the church, from 11AM until the time of service. Memorials to Myotonic Dystrophy or St. Paul Lutheran Church are appreciated. Special thanks to Doctor Goniu and the ICU nurses/respitory therapists/doctors at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's-Ozaukee, as well as Grafton's Rescue team on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
