Clarence A. “Snuffy” Schmitt, of Grafton, passed away on December 11, 2015, at Ellen’s Home, in Port Washington, at the age of 85 years. Clarence was born on March 23, 1930, in Colby, Wisconsin, the son of the late Edward Schmitt and the late Anna (nee Ewan) Schmitt. Clarence was later united in marriage to Marjorie Dayton and their marriage was blessed with two sons, Clarence and Paul. Clarence served his country in the United States Army from September of 1951, until he was honorably discharged in June, of 1953. He went on to work for Mercury Marine, working as a machinist for over 40 years. Upon his retirement from Mercury Marine, Clarence served the Grafton area for over 10 years, working as a crossing guard. “Snuffy”, as he was best known, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and watching Packer and Brewer games, but he truly loved watching his sons, as well as his grandchildren, in their various sporting events. Snuffy is survived by his wife, Marjorie Schmitt, sons, Clarence (Tammy) Schmitt and Paul (Michelle) Schmitt, and grandchildren, Justin Schmitt, Ryan Schmitt, and Ashley Maihofer. He is further survived by 2 sisters, 1 brother, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015, 6PM at the Mueller Funeral Home, in Grafton. A visitation will take place on Thursday, prior to the services, from 4PM until 5:45PM. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Grafton. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
