Mrs. Carol Mae Oetzel of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at their summer home in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. The former Carol Mae Rieck was born in Sheboygan on April 27, 1929. The daughter of the late Esther and William Rieck who resided in Kohler. She married her husband of 69 years, Leon (Lee) Oetzel, on August 27, 1949. Carol was a 1947 graduate of Kohler High School. She possessed a beautiful soprano voice. She was a choir member and soloist for Kohler high school, the Kohler Company Chorus and in church choirs wherever she resided. Carol loved knitting beautiful afghans, baby booties and sweaters, to name a few, for her family, friends, and many church functions. She also loved to make baked goods for her family, church bake sales and Ladies Aid events at various churches. Carol is survived by her husband; three children Larry (Chris) Oetzel, Deborah Oetzel and Douglas Oetzel; two grandchildren Amy (Joe) Lee, William (Christina) Oetzel; four great-grandchildren Tom, Katie and David Lee and Addison Oetzel. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Beverly Blandin. Viewing and family visitation will be held at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on Thursday, October 4th, from 2-3pm. The church service will immediately follow starting at 3pm. Internment at Zur Ruhe Cemetery following the service. Carol wished all donations to be made to the Guardian Angel Program which provides tuition assistance grants for children who wish to attend First Immanuel Lutheran School or a charity of your choice.
