Carol M. Stillmank

Carol Marie Stillmank On Thursday August 8, 2019, Carol Marie Stillmank (nee Mueller) loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away surrounded by family. Carol was born on November 5,1943 in Wausau, WI to Edward Nicholas Mueller and Marie Gertrude Mueller (nee Hoeft). Carol was preceded in death by her father, mother, grandparents, and her husband of 52 years, James William Stillmank. She is survived by her son, Jim (Christi) Stillmank, her daughter Jody (Bob) Selensky, her grandchildren Marie (Amrit) Singh, Katie and Sean Stillmank; Caleb, Noah, and Jacob Selensky; great-grandchildren Johnathan and Ariel, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten. After graduating Newman Catholic High School in Wausau, Carol moved to Chicago where she held jobs working in the Merchandise Mart and the headquarters of Quaker Oats. Carol moved back to Wisconsin while her husband served in the Vietnam War and then worked at the headquarters of Kimberly-Clark in Neenah. After Jim’s return, they settled in Grafton, Wisconsin where they lived since 1975. She worked for over 15 years at Tecumseh Engines in the advertising department and then as head of the printing operations. After that she worked at Milwaukee Sign in Grafton and subsequently worked on many projects for various companies. For many years she volunteered for the “Souper Bowl” fundraiser for the Grafton Education Foundation and participated in many charity walks, including the fight against breast cancer, which she battled in 2003. Carol enjoyed many activities; telephone pole climbing, reading, camping, spending weekends at the lake, and playing Scrabble with her husband and her sister-in-spirit, Mary. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She loved spending quality time with her grandchildren, obsessing over her many pets throughout the years, and coming up with games and adventures with her friends. Carol will be remembered for her fun loving and spontaneous nature, her warm and welcoming spirit, and complaining about her bad letters in Scrabble. Always a proponent for modern technology, she was keen on knowing where the best (and worst) spots were in the house or on the road for Wi-Fi signal. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019at 12 Noon at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1619 Washington Ave., Grafton. A visitation will be held on Saturday, at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to any cause in the fight against breast cancer.
