Betty M. Kraus

Betty M. Kraus, of Grafton, passed away at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, on January 20, 2011, at the age of 86 years. Betty was born on November 29, 1924, in Port Washington, to the late Otto Utecht and the late Helen (nee Jacobson) Utecht. She graduated from Grafton High School and later received her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. In 1943, Betty married William J. Kraus at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Betty worked for the Grafton Public School system for over 20 years, serving as a Vice Principal as well as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Betty was a lifelong member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. She will be remembered for her love of dogs and Chevy Camaroes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011, 12 Noon, at St. Paul Lutheran Church 701 Washington St. Grafton, Wisconsin. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the church Fellowship Hall. Betty is survived by her sons: Bill (Karen) Kraus of Manchester, Michigan, and David Kraus of Grafton; granddaughters: Kimberly (Jeff) Cohen and Lisa (Greg) Million; great-grandchildren: Alexis and Amanda Cohen; and Connor and Katie Million. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Kraus; sister, Carol Schwengel; and brother, Harvey Utecht. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church are appreciated. Visitation: Immediately following the Memorial Service.
