Bette Mae Wade

Wade, Bette M. passed away on November 2, 2016 at the age of 86. She was married to Mel Wade for 59 years who preceded her in death on January 14, 2014. She was the loving mother of Dave Wade of Mequon, Bruce Wade of Delafield and Dan (Jennifer) Wade of Grafton. Grandmother to: Paul, Steven, Gina, Eric, Matt, Jeff and Ally Wade. Bette was the first English teacher at Nicolet High School when it opened in 1955. She later became a reading specialist and Title One Program Director always helping disadvantaged students and English as a second language transfer students. Bette was born in Two Rivers, WI where she was also married and has lifelong friends. She graduated with a BS and MA in education from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She lived in Brown Deer and attended Abiding Savior Lutheran Church for ten years and then moved to Glendale in 1965 eventually attending Whitefish Bay Methodist Church. She was always dedicated to helping people especially students. She loved Shetland Sheepdogs and had five generations of them in her life. A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, November 25- 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Whitefish Bay Methodist Church 819 E. Silver Spring Dr Whitefish Bay, WI 53217. Burial was at Forest View Cemetery in Two Rivers, WI. Please send memorials to: Mel and Bette Wade Scholarship Fund C/O of Dave Wade 6922 W. Lantern Lane Mequon, WI 53092. The scholarships are awarded to deserving students going to college.
