Barbara Jean DeBroux, of Grafton, went to her heavenly home on September 3, 2018, at the age of 81 years. Barbara was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Albert Hoffmeister and the late Myrtle (nee Neigenfind) Hoffmeister. She was later united in marriage to Gerald DeBroux, on November 12, 1955, in Phlox, Wisconsin. Together their marriage was blessed with six children. The family relocated to the Grafton area, where they raised their six children and became members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish. They enjoyed camping with their family and friends as well as square-dancing. Barbara and Gerald were former members of the M-T Saddles Square-dancing Club. In February of 2010, Gerald was called home to heaven, and Barbara embraced her family even more than ever. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren became the highlights of her life. Barbara became close with Earl Witte, of Grafton, and they spent the last six years enjoying one another’s company. Barbara is survived by her children: David (Candy) DeBroux, Bonnie (Dr. Joe Schwind) Raettig, Mari (Scott) Fohey, Eugene (Mary) DeBroux, Sharon (Mike) Gerek, and Tom DeBroux; her significant companion, Earl Witte, and siblings, Cliff Hoffmeister, Dick Hoffmeister, and Donna Sanders. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald DeBroux, grandchildren, Angela Raettig and Matthew DeBroux, and brother, Walter Hoffmeister. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), in Grafton. Barbara will be in state on Saturday, at the church, from 9:30 AM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated.
