Audrey Nieman

Audrey Nieman, of Cedarburg, was called home to her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at the age of 85 years. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, 6PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, (W61 N498 Washington Ave.), in Cedarburg, with the Rev. Vicki Simon officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service, on Wednesday, at the church, from 4PM until 5:45PM. Entombment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Memorials of your choice are appreciated. Audrey was born on December 10, 1928, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Carl Kluetzke and the late Mary (nee Ewig) Kluetzke. She graduated from West Division High School, in 1946, and completed her nurses training from Mt. Sinai College, in 1949. Audrey worked as a visiting nurse in Milwaukee after receiving her degree. Audrey was united in marriage to Willard Nieman, on April 7, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Cedarburg. Shortly after their wedding, Willard was deployed during the Korean War, and Audrey followed him to Austria. Audrey served as a nurse for the military wives mostly in labor and delivery. Audrey and Willard were the owners and operators of Nieman Apple Orchards on Bridge Street, in Cedarburg, which is now run by their son, Bob. They could be found on the farm harvesting their fresh apples, or selling their produce at the West Allis farmer’s market. Audrey is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Willard Nieman, children, Carol (John) Thorston, of Omaha, NE, Bob (Liz) Nieman, of Cedarburg, and Kathy Rex, of Random Lake; and grandchildren, Jessica (C.J.), Ashley (Andrew), Sammi, Katie, Jacob, Kyle (Kaci), Aaron, and Nic. She is further survived by 4 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
