Arnold J. Mezera

Arnold Joseph (Arnie/AJ) Mezera passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14th at the age of 87 years. Arnold was born on July 1, 1934 to Raymond and Hazel Mezera in Crawford County, WI. Growing up he worked on his parents farm. After high school Arnold served in the Navy on the USS Columbus as a Fire Control Specialist for the armament. He traveled to many countries while on ship and was honorably discharged in 1961. After the Navy he worked at A C Electronics where he was contracted by the government to track satellites where he spent eleven months in Madagascar in 1965. On return to the U.S. he started with IBM as a Computer Systems Engineer. He retired from IBM in 1987and worked part time as a consultant for Manpower in Glendale, WI. Arnold enjoyed deer hunting with his sons and nephews. He built a boat which they used for hunting on the lower Wisconsin riverway in Crawford County. Arnold and Kathie also traveled with their camper to most of the states over fifteen years and later enjoyed seasonal camping in Fond du Lac. Arnold is survived by his wife Kathie, sons Brad & Tim Mezera and daughter Camile Mezera, stepson Steve (Theresa) Schmechel, stepdaughter Linda (Chad) Meier, stepdaughter Lori (Steve) Schwartz. Grandchildren Jason (Kristi) Mezera, Amanda & Nic Mezera, Celia & Ben Schwartz, Jonathan & Grace Schmechel, Great granddaughters Mila and Stella Mezera. Brothers Dave (Margaret) Mezera, Mike (Judy) Mezera and Tom Mezera. Sisters Linda (Leroy) Plautz and Susan Giese. Sister-in-law Marilyn Mezera, brother-in-law Robert (Judy) Burhop, sister-in-law Sandra (Joe) Conigliaro, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceeding him in death were his brothers Philip and Larry, sister Lillian, sister-in-law Kathleen, and brother-in-law Al Giese. Funeral service with full Military Honors will be held on Saturday, November 27th at Mueller Funeral home, 979 N Green Bay Rd. Grafton. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00pm followed by a service at 3:00pm. Interment will be at the Washington County Memorial Park 3358 Paradise Drive, West Bend on Monday, November 29th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton appreciated.
