Anna Louise Young Eagle (nee Kionka) loving wife of the late Alexander Young Eagle, was born on October 8, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the fourth of six daughters of Paul and Emma (nee Mueller) Kionka. She was baptized into the Christian faith on October 26, 1930 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was confirmed in her baptismal faith at Emmaus on April 2, 1944. She graduated from Lutheran High School in Milwaukee in 1948. It was also at Emmaus Lutheran Church that Anna and Alexander were united in marriage on February 19, 1951. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Jonathan, Timothy, and Jeffrey. Anna was a faithful member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa and a member of the choir for many years before transferring membership to First Immanuel-Cedarburg in 1997. Anna loved her book clubs, the Milwaukee Symphony, the theater, ballet, the arts and golf. Anna worked for the Milwaukee Journal for 9 years and at Longfellow Jr. High School in Wauwatosa for 28 years before retiring to Cedarburg in 1997. The Lord called Anna home to Himself in heaven on February 19, 2018. She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Jonathan (Leeda), Timothy (Beth), and Jeffrey (Jill) and her loving grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlin, Jordan Young Eagle, Aaron (Rachel) Groth and Andrea (Nathan) Miller. Dearly loved sister of Magdalene (the late Rev. Harvey) Wangerin, the late Elizabeth (Miles) Coulter, the late Esther (the late Rev. Fredrick) Hinz, Hildegarde (the late Rev. George) Hauser and Dorothy (Roy) Schoewe. She is further survived by many adoring nieces and nephews, as well as many treasured and faithful friends. Her remains will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery to await the glorious resurrection of the saints in Jesus Christ our Lord. We thank God for the many blessings He bestowed upon Anna during her earthly life. Today we rejoice and praise God that Anna is now enjoying the greatest blessing of all-eternal life with her Savior Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Lutheran Indian Ministries, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
